Our Spotlight PetsChiChi and LukaChiChi and Luka came to us with a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. They were rescued from a country location without mom so we cannot confirm why they might have this condition, which is often because a cat had an infection prior to birth. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain responsible for the control of motion, so these little guys wobble a bit when they are on the move (don't tell them that's not just how they are supposed to be and they'll never know). It hasn't affected any of their abilities and doesn't have any affect on their health or the length of their life. They have the typical kitten energy and love to play with you or each other. This bonded pair love the other cats and dog in their foster home. They are not children tested but we do know with their condition, they would not be good candidates for being picked up and carried around by younger children. LukaLuka is a gorgeous bulls-eye tabby with sea foam green eyes who is all girl. However, never fear, she can keep up with her brother. ChiChiChiChi has his own good looks. Partly spotted, partly striped, he is a very handsome grey tabby. They will not be separated and will only go to a home as a pair. They were born in the first week of September, 2007 and are still juveniles with young cat energy. Even with their condition, they can race and chase and wrestle with the best of them. They are spayed and neutered, up-to-date on their shots and have tested negative for FIV and leukemia. If you are interested in adopting this wonderful pair, please complete our "I'm interested" form or phone our cat coordinator at 503-284-8768 evenings and weekends. |
